Man dies in Brisbane crash, women and girl rushed to hospital

By Ben Bissett

A man has died after the Volkswagen Golf he was driving with three passengers crashed into a tree at Zillmere, in Brisbane’s north, in the early hours on Thursday.

Queensland police said the 40-year-old driver, from Zillmere, was rushed from the scene by ambulance but died of his injuries.

The other passengers, two women aged 42 and 38, and a 14-year-old girl, were seriously injured and taken to hospital.

The crash happened about 1.25am on Merrett Avenue.

Officers have appealed to anyone who might have dashcam footage or CCTV that could help with their investigation.
